No n/a 20 No No Yes Yes Yes Yes Based on AHDI BylawsPractitioner/AHDI: Any individual whose primary employment is or has been the transcription of medical reports and has verified
their membership in AHDI.
Student/AHDI: Any individual enrolled in a medical transcription program and who has verified their student membership in AHDI
can be a student member for up to two years.
Postgraduate: Any individual who is verified as having been a student member for at least one year and has verified their
status as postgraduate with AHDI.
Educational: Any educational facility that trains medical transcriptionists has verified their membership in AHDI.
Corporate: Any healthcare delivery, company, or manufacturer which employs medical transcriptionists or provides services or
products to the profession and has verified their membership in AHDI.
Sustaining: Any retired person who has been a Practitioner Member for at least two years in the past who has left the medical
transcription field but has not entered into another field of employment has verified their membership in AHDI.
Electronic: Please note that electronic membership does not include the right to vote, hold office in a national position, discounts
on non-web-based events such as the annual convention, or publications but may serve in official positions at the component level.
GDC local chapter member only: Any individual who is not a current member of AHDI but wishes to be a local chapter member
only. This includes all categories of membership.
